Benchmarking and Certification
Green Globe Certification and Benchmarking provides a framework for environmental and social performance improvement. It is about better environments and better business and contribution to climate care.
The Green Globe journey involves three steps: Benchmarked Bronze, Certified Silver and Certified Gold. The chart defines the three stages of the journey from benchmarking to certified and certified 5 plus years.
The Green Globe Benchmarking and Certification Program for the Travel and Tourism Industry in the Asia Pacific region is operated by EC3 Global (www.ec3global.com), a wholly owned subsidiary of Australia's Sustainable Tourism Cooperative Research Centre (STCRC).

Benchmarking
The first step for Benchmarking is to establish an environmental and social sustainability policy. This Policy addresses the scope and extent of the organisation's operations and the existing and potential environmental and social impacts relative to its location, the sensitivity of the local environment and the nature and scale of the services provided.
The second step your organization will undertake is Benchmarking, which requires the organization to collect information relating to the organization's performance against their relevant Sector Benchmarking Indicators (SBI's).
